Not so long ago, I worked for an IT company where all the power was concentrated in executive management. The rest of the organization had to fight for any remaining "power scraps", and this had a terrible impact on the company culture. My colleagues would hoard information and frequently backstab each other. It also eliminated any desire to experiment and take risks in the organization.
This got me thinking. It was pretty obvious that this organization was in a bad place, but how could you fix it? What would actual healthy leadership and communication look like? And could you inoculate organizations against these managerial anti-patterns, by introducing the right tools?
